In a very basic sense, the larger VR4 intake ports actually taper dramatically at the valve causing less flow overall than the Evo head, which has a less dramatic step down. You have to remember that even though you can assume that more volume will equal more power, the result is actually less flow. Porting plays with volume verses flow, the more meat you remove from the ports the slower the air flow will be (this is becuase you are creating less restriction). Carburattors use venturies (restrictions) to speed up air flow through the neck and into the combustion chamber. What you need to know is that many people have proved the Evo head to be the better head for most applications. I say most becuase i have read articles where head porters have done extensive work to the VR head to make it just as successful as the Evo. Agian, the truth is hard to determine. Less overall work is required for the Evo head, making is the better platform for most builds.I had a long conversation a few years ago with lyn rodgers about this very debate, the evo intake ports whilst smaller actualy flow the air faster and gets it into the head more effeciantly compared to the vr4 head.if you want balls out quick drag car power then stick with the vr4 head,if you are keeping the mods simple to above average less than 5-600hp etc then go for the evo head. Here's a simplification the way I see it.Bigger ports = more maximum flow at the expense of mid/low rpm torque.Smaller ports= better mid range at the expense of top end.Air flows in pulses, it stops and starts, the "backpressure" caused by the momentum of the air (speed) helps to fill the cylinders.Less speed =less backpressure=less VE at midrange rpms.more speed = more backpressure= more VE.If you're changing the size of the ports then maybe the length should also be changed? The same applies to exhausts.
2g turboissa on hieman "heikompi" kansi kuin on juuri vaikka 88-92 gti galantissa. Sama kansi löytyy 1g autoista. Useat vaihtavatkin 2g:hen 1g:stä kannen kun alkavat enempiä tehoja hakemaan.

Onko muuten kaasuläppäkotelois eroja turbo/gti/4g63nt?
